CHAINMAIL ARMOUR WORKSHOP. GOREJUNCTION June 11th.

Welcome to Cicada Instincts next chainmail workshop! Hosted by Zoe Barwick, the designer and maker of all things Cicada Instinct xx

This workshop will teach you everything you need to know to make your very own chainmail armour pieces! 

This class will teach you how to make the most popular and common weave,  known as the European 4 in 1. This is the weave that comes to most peoples minds when they think of chainmail!

Details on the classes are stated below:

June 11th 5pm-8pm 

Held at Vacant Assembly West End, Brisbane. QLD.

8x spaces available. 

Learn the European 4-in-1 weave and make your very own armour and/or jewellery!  

$80 AUD 

You will learn about the correct tools, materials, techniques and the common European 4 in 1 weave to make your own beautiful creations!

In this class you will also learn:

-          Best tools to use and how to use them correctly

-          Techniques, tips and tricks for properly using materials.

-          In-depth tutorial on how to make the European 4-in-1 weave. 

Second portion of the class will be dedicated to creating your very own pieces using this weave! If you have a project in mind or just want to create a large armour panel, we are here to help and to teach you! All materials and tools will be supplied on the day xx

Beads and other detailing available on the day for you to use:

-    Red glass blood-droplet beading 
-    Garnet beads 
-    Freshwater pearls 
-    Labradorite beads 
-    Stainless steel spikes in various sizes 
-    Stainless steel balls 

Please feel free to bring your own beading too if you'd like! 

Intermission 

After teaching the first portion of the class (learning the weave) you are free to take a break whenever you need! I will have a few refreshments and snacks on the night for you to nibble from. 

Please note there are no toilets available at the venue, but there is a bathroom a 5 minute walk away in the park across the road. 

What to bring:

Nothing is required however if you have done chainmail before and have your own pliers you are welcome to bring them! However, everyone will be supplied with their own pair of pliers for the workshop.

All tools and materials will be supplied.

Some chainmail materials may be available to purchase on the day.

As spaces are limited, cancellations within 72 hours of the event start time are non-refundable, however you’re welcome to change the name of the attendee on your booking.
